Course Information

High School Diploma Course

It’s not too late to get your diploma! Check out Marysville School for Adults High School Requirements and take the next step in your education or career.

This is a self-paced course using Edmentum and direct classroom instruction and progress is monitored by a credentialed  teacher. Students in this course must be over 18 years old. The students will complete 160 credits (updated June 2023) to earn the Marysville Adult School Diploma. All of our courses are in-class.

If you are a current high school student looking to make up credits, contact your high school counselor for registration information. MSA is only for adult learners.

GED Test Preparation

Marysville School for Adults offers preparation courses for the GED Exam. These courses are online, self-paced, and offered in our open lab classes. Students have lessons indiviually designed to them using our Aztec and Edmentum student software. Preparation courses are offered in all the following GED subjects:

  • Mathematical Reasoning
  • Reading through Language Arts
  • Social Studies
  • Science

All students will be required to take the CASAS Reading and Math assesments for placement before they are able to register for this class.

English as a Second Language

Students will be evaluated to determine his/her level of English competency.

Para Educator Exam & Preparation

Paraprofessional Exams are held by appointment only.

Applicants who wish to be employed by the Marysville Joint Unified School District as a para educator must possess a California ID, a high school diploma, and an AA and/or 48 college units.

If you do not have your AA or the required 48 units, you may take the para educator proficiency exam to waive this requirement.

The exam is made up of 61 multiple choice questions consisting of Math, English Lanuage Arts, and the Ability to Instruct, followed by a question requiring an essay response, written in a five paragraph format. You will have up to two hours and thirty minutes to complete the test.

If you do not pass the proficency exam after two attempts, you may enroll in our adult education classes (free of charge) to help prepare you to retake the exam.
